That’s right - Don and his son Nate also take aerial photos!

Back in the 80s, Don was looking for a hobby he could share with his son. He followed his love of aviation and started building and flying radio controlled airplanes.

It wasn't long before Don became bored with flying the planes around without a purpose. Don had been a photographer in the Navy and decided to combine his two passions; in no time he had installed a disposable film camera in a glider so he could take photos over Narragansett, RI. (Remember, this is a LONG time before drones!)

Over the years, Don refined the formula with new airplane designs and better cameras - a couple of them even carried those old 8mm video camcorders!

By 2005, digital cameras had become good enough that Don designed an airplane specifically to carry one. In the ensuing years, he and Nate teamed up to take hundreds of thousands of photos in the sky over Rhode Island.
